Remember the strategies and goals that you started the year with back in January? It seems impossible to believe that we have barely three weeks left in 2020. Clearly, many of the hopes, plans, and aspirations with which we began the year were dashed and sucker punched.
But remember, it’s not what happens to you that matters, rather it’s what you do about what happens to you.
Some leaders got swept up in the wave of the pandemic devastation while others rose to the occasion and made things work as best they could under terrible circumstances.
Everyone is weary, but leaders need to transcend that weariness, finish this year, and enter the new year with some renewed energy and plans. In the abstract, your company is counting on you. Concretely, your employees, clients and vendors are counting on you.
We’ve endured nearly nine months in the pandemic and know realistically that we’ll still be facing monumental challenges for many months ahead. What do you want and choose to do differently?
Obviously, this is different for every company and every leader, but it starts with a shift in mindset. This may require a personal “reboot” to realign your mindset so you can bring your A-game into the coming year.
Rebooting your mindset is intrinsic and comes from a place deep inside where you decide that it’s time to make a change.
You can choose to take a different path. Use the rest of December to make the plans that will propel you into 2021 so that you can start off strong and keep going even stronger.
