Memorial Day weekend in the U.S. is just around the corner and I’d like to acknowledge the spirit of the holiday by paying tribute to the men and women who died while serving in the military.
Unlike last year when many of us were locked down due to the pandemic, this year most people have the ability to actually have an almost “normal” holiday. Gatherings of friends and family with accompanying barbeques are on many families’ agendas.
While you’re enjoying the holiday festivities, please take time to rest and replenish. People are fried to a crisp after the ordeals of the past 15 months and deserve to hit the pause button.
You can also make it a time for reflection. I’m sure you’ve been eagerly looking forward to doing things you haven’t been able to do for a while. Why not also consider what you don’t want to do. As we approach the post-COVID era, consider what don’t you miss from pre-pandemic days that you don’t want to return to.
This is a rare opportunity to make a mental reset and implement some changes that will permanently improve your quality of life.
Here are some examples to get your juices flowing. Have you gained productivity by not commuting? Are you eating healthier because you’re cooking at home? Has the quality of your family time been enhanced?
Let this idea float around while you’re bask in some quality time this weekend. You deserve it!
